Ambedkar Association of North America (AANA)
Our members primarily come from the Bahujan community in India and are committed to a vision of a world free from caste apartheid, religious intolerance, and injustice. We work with all Ambedkarite Americans to achieve dignity and justice through organizing, policy innovation, transformative education, and cultural programming.
"I measure the progress of a community by the degree of progress which women have achieved."
B. R. Ambedkar
Our Line of Work
We Educate
We work within the United States and Canada to build our members’ leadership, resilience and local power in the many communities we are part of in North America.
We Help
We do many events, training programs, and vihara series that reach thousands of families in the United States and around the world. Our members look for change.
We Build
We work on both secular and faith-based initiatives but have a core commitment to the social engagement of Ambedkarite Buddhism all around the world.
We Donate
We try to use the advantages we have received by escaping caste to build solidarity with other oppressed communities in North America and the rest of the world.
