International Vesak Day Celebration & Buddhist Festival
June 22, 2019 @ 1:30 pm - 5:30 pm
On behalf of the Buddhist Council of America, we would like to invite you to be our honored guest speaker to open the International Vesak Day ceremony, a holiday that was recognized and adopted by the United Nations on May 15, 1999. International Vesak Day is an important day for Buddhist communities across Michigan and the world. It marks the three most important events in Buddha’s life: his birth, Enlightenment, and passing away of Nibbana. Each year, International Vesak Day commemorates Lord Buddha and his teachings that provide guidance around non-violent actions to work for universal peace throughout the world. We, the Buddhist communities across America, celebrate this important day with a focus on spreading loving-kindness and world peace.
The Buddhist Council of America collaborates and partners with the Buddhist communities in Michigan. We represent the Buddhist communities with our members coming from Thailand, India, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Sri Lanka, China, South Korea, Japan, Myanmar, and abroad.
We are all coming together to pray the world peace on International Vesak Day-Buddhist Festival on June 22, 2019, at Community Auditorium, Van Dyke Public Schools, 22900 Federal Ave.,Warren, MI 48089. Time: 1:30pm – 5:30pm.
